I am still in the final planning stages with my next project, a wide walnut dresser. I plan to use vertical grain solid walnut sides joined to the top and bottom carcass with half blind dovetails. I was originally planning to use plywood for the top and bottom carcass since it is quick and is...
I am looking for a quarter or half sheet of 1/8 inch red oak plywood. Is there a local source in Raleigh/Durham? I can go a 1/4 inch if I have too.
Thanks,

Are there any stores in the triangle that sell 1/32" plywood. Some hobby shops sell 12" x 24" sheets of birch for making planes, but I haven't had any luck finding one. Ideally, I'm looking for a few sheets of 1/32" walnut.
Some of the HD stores are now stocking either, or both birch and red oak 1/2" ply, in addition to the 3/4" stuff. Priced at about $42 for a 4 X 8 sheet. This is NOT baltic birch, but regular birch plywood made by Columbia Forest Products in Old Fort NC. I bought a sheet today to build a shaker...
I need two pieces of 1/4" cherry plywood, 12" x 18" each. I can order this from Rockler of course, but are there any local stores that sell something smaller than a full sheet?
I'm a newbie, located in Hendersonville, about half way between Asheville and Greenville, SC, and I'm looking for a source of quartersawn oak plywood. Any suggestions? I'm not a volume used, just 2 or 3 sheets at a time.
I am creating a wood desktop and I used cherry on the edges and cherry plywood in the center. But when I sanded the cherry plywwod it removed some of the cherry top and now I am left with plywood in some areas.
Is there anyway to fix this or do I need to start over??
Thanks in advance for your...
I am building a new top to an exising podium which is made from red oak 1 X 2 frame and oak plywood panels.
The actual top will be oak ply with a walnut band. I have some Golden Oak Danish oil that I know will make all the oak parts match the rest of the podium.
I am thinking that I don't...
Looking to make some kitchen cabinets - wifey wants pine of all things, country look, saw a picture in a magazine . I'm looking for a source for 3/4" pine rift cut plywood so I can start figuring how much this project is going to cost me. Not the warped flat cut junk they sell at the BORG...
I'm not much of a plywood person; have used solid wood for all of my projects to date. However, it's time for me to "go over to the dark side".... and I could use some advice.
If you were going to obtain some plywood to have on hand for general shop use (jigs, fixtures, etc), what type of...
A man in Harrisburg, NC advertised cabinet-grade, 3/4" plywood for $27 per sheet. He says he has a couple hundred sheets. Before I drive three hours to go get 20 sheets, is there anyone close who can go by and see if it is good stuff?
Please PM me and I will send you his number. He told me he...
I just built new bathroom cabinets using oak face frames and oak plywood for the box. When testing wipe-on stains for color, I noticed the plywood isn't taking the stain evenly, even when using a sealer before the stain. (yes I bought chinese plywood from Lowe's - i've learned my lesson) It's...
I'm going to build my kids a playhouse for Their birthday. I want to put plywood siding or osb siding on the exterior, so the exterior will be a "one step" process. Anywhere know a place to buy this stuff that is cheaper then lowes or Home Depot? I think they want around $15-$20 for it there...
At least a dozen sheets left of some really nice maple plywood at the Brassfield Home Depot in NW Greensboro - I bought a couple of sheets since I couldn't pass on the markdown... cut well, looks good, no voids on the few cuts I did, and seems quite flat/unwarped.
Not sure if on clearance...
I have some birch 1/4 plywood that warped slightly due to the heat in my shop. I was wanting to use it for paneling on cabinet doors. The cabinets will be painted white so I am using birch panel with 2" styles and rails (with a grove down the center to accept the panel). I cut the panel to...
I'm making a wall of bookcases for the mancave. Most of the plans I looked at included mostly plywood. They said it would be more stable and cost less. I thought I would save some money and use walnut plywood for the case and walnut for the trim. So I bought a couple of sheets of walnut plywood...
