    Homemade "Anchorseal"?

So I was watching Woodsmith Shop the other day and they were doing some laminated bending. They mentioned, almost in passing, treating the mold with a release agent made from wax and solvent, which got me thinking :widea: about making the stuff, both for mold release and for end grain sealing...

    Homemade Vacuum Chuck

I didn't realize the Holly had so much spalt until I turned it round. Fortunately, I've got a lot of it. I used the example Steve did on his for the chuck portion and a threaded lamp rod through head stock from the example on Woodturners Resource. As I've spend way too much money on turning...

Maple Gloat and a Homemade Steadyrest

Rob hooked me up with some Maple he had just cut. One had a whole bunch of greyish/purple stains through it. Such a shame as it was a nice piece of wood, so I burned it. I wanted a steady rest for some upcoming projects. I saw some of the homemade ones and decided that was what I wanted to do...

    Turner's Slide-Rest, Homemade in Wood

There are times when I wished I had a cross-slide rest for my wood-lathe, for those special cuts where precise repeatability is wanted, such as cutting an identical, angular groove in several pieces (it is this feature that I need to be able to put "dish" into model wagon-wheels, for example)...

    Homemade sysport (Festool Dock)

Until recently my miter saw has resided on an old kitchen cart, At the same time I had a Festool MFT (Multi-function table) resting on its side when not in use and the systainers (containers that the Festool tools come in) sitting on the floor with the Festool vacuum. I got the idea to...

Here you can see the levels I identifed in the drawing before actually doing any cutting. I removed the deepest background (level 1) first then removed each subsequent (shallower) level until all levels were hogged out.
