    Help on finishing window trim

    I am installing some new windows in the house and i am going to finish the trim on the inside with some red oak. I am looking for suggestions on what would be a good top coat for the wood to protect it from moisture and uv (fading).

    Suggestions for finishing mahgany quilt rack

    Need Help on Finishing Red Oak

    I am refinishing my mother oak kitchen table and chairs. I have stripped the old finish off and resanded the wood. Do I finish it with Polyurethane? Do I need to stain first or nt at all? Or do I use Polycrylic? Or would Lacquer be better? :eusa_doh: :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

    Finishing Red Cedar and Cypress

    Anyone have a good suggestion as to what to use to finish ERC and Cypress for outdoor use? (Swings, outdoor furniture etc.) Would like to keep the natural look as much as possible with little to no "gloss." Any experience with any of the Thompson's Water Seal products?

    I have a small piece of padauk I am turning for a pocket watch. I know the dust gets everywhere and it appears to stain. Should a coat of sanding sealer and 3 coats of wipe on poly be enough to finish it?

    What's the best way to dispose of finishing products?

    What do you guys do with your excess mineral spirits, lacquer thinner, denatured alcohol, poly, lacquer, shellac etc.? I live in the country so I go out into the woods to dump stuff. This makes me feel a bit guilty. Is there a better way? Thanks.
