    Business card case and holder

I have a friend that has recently got her real estate license and started working this week for a realtor so I thought I would make her something. It is purple hart and curly maple business card holder and can also serve as a display for open houses or the like. I am going to make a card...

Harpsichord Project Part 8 - The Case is Finished at Last

Hi all, In Part 7 we installed the Belly Rails, Lower Braces, and some case moldings and runners. Now we will install the Upper Braces, pinblock support bracket, and construct and temporarily install the pinblock. This will conclude the construction of the case. Let’s get started...

Flag Case - Need some advice!

Hello all! I finally finished the flag case I started a while back. This is for my MIL's husband who passed away earlier this year. Here's a pic, but my MIL was also given the casings from the 21 gun salute. I would like to arrange them in the case, but am having trouble figuring out how. I...

Harpsichord Project Part 6 - Case Sides

Hi all, It’s been 10 days since we started the Harpsichord Project (it seems longer than that to me and probably to you too). I’m trying to keep my posts current with the work so that my mind is still able to remember what I do well enough to attempt to describe it (no guarantees here, for...

Harpsichord Project Part 5 - Case Bottom

Hi all, The type of instrument we are building requires the case sides to sit ON TOP of the case bottom so the next component we need to build is the Bottom of the case. It would be easier to build the Bottom out of ½” plywood but, for tonal reasons, we can’t. Instead, we will build the Bottom...

Harpsichord Project Part 4 - The Case (Bentside)

Hi all, It’s finally time to start building the harpsichord case. The diagram shown below labels five of the six parts that make up the shell of the instrument. This diagram, which I did using Sketchup, is not the instrument we are building but the names of the case parts are the same. The...

    Finished Project Lab Case

I finally got this finished. It took a lot longer than I thought it would, mostly because I had so little time to work on it. I had to do a little bit then wait till the next weekend or sometimes the next month. Anyway I think it looks good and serves the purpose.

    Flag & awards case

Yesterday my last remaining daughter at State sent me an email asking how much it cost to make this. No problem; I've got enough scrap walnut. Here's mine:

Having a BAD case of WGD today...

Just got the new JDS air cleaner. Bought a few saw blades I didn't really need, but it was such a good deal. Saw the sale on the Freud jig saw, had to get it of course. Now I'm looking at a biscuit joiner! Half a mouse click away from ordering one. What is wrong with me?!? :tool: Someone stop...

    Flag case

My FIL was a Marine in Guadalcanal during WWII. I have the folded flag from his funeral. I would like to display this in a case. I have seen some of these before, but don't remember where. Does anyone have any knowlege of this, and possibly some plans for building one? Thanks, :icon_thum

    Finished Display Case

My favorite word in the title is "finished". I under - estimated the amount of work involved in the cabinet severely. I'm happy to be moving on. The door mullions were all hand coped which was a new experience for me. Thanks for taking a look............ Stephen

    JUst in case (redux)

A few months ago I posted a blank with this title in the event it didn't make it through the turning process. I sent the blank to a friend of mine who using his turning and dentistry skills captured the essence of what I was trying to create. Here is the results of a joint effort by William...
