A few months ago I posted a blank with this title in the event it didn't make it through the turning process.
I sent the blank to a friend of mine who using his turning and dentistry skills captured the essence of what I was trying to create.
Here is the results of a joint effort by William Cavanaugh of Muncy Pa and myself.
I have it on good authority this blank either passed through or over N.C. on it's way to Pa.

Eagle, the pen is gorgeous! My evil twin has to ask - she thought you were felt strongly about not having anything in the photo except the pen itself in order to keep the focus on the pen. Did the turner take the picture?

Cathy, no I didn't take the picture.
I was talking to Cav last nite as he was taking them trying to coach him on aligning the segments to take the best picture for viewing.
Numerous times I requested he loose the fossil.
One reason he uses it is the recesses prevent the pen from rolling while trying to"pose" it.
The other reason is he knows it pi$$es me off.
For the aggravation he had while turning this blank I let it slide.
If I Were taking the picture I never would put anything else in it to distract the viewers attention.

I knew you preferred nothing else in the picture, so at least that makes sense, Maybe you could invent a clear holder that could somehow prevent the pen from rolling, The pen is cool!

I didn't "invent" it but have been using a clear holder in many of my pictures.
Not 100% invisible but enough so that you haven't noticed it.

I have noticed them and they do a good job. I wonder if you could create a slight groove lengthwise in those to have a little invisible room to "coax" the pen to stay in a certain position?

I did not make this one, it was given to me by a friend a few years ago.
Justs a block of plexiglass and it does have a trough in it.
Some pens with an accent ring in the center band are problematic but that's why God invented tape.:eusa_danc
