    Belt Sander and Oribital

    I've got a 3x21 bosch belt sander and I've messed up the platen. I've seen lots of the 4" platens for sale, but haven't seen the 3" anywhere... anyone got any sources? Also, I have a porter cable RO sander and there is a big gash in the HL pad. Are there replacements for those also? Thanks

    Variable speed belt sander?

    Has anyone ever used a variable speed router control on a belt sander? I need to sand a butcher block down and am wanting to slow the sander down a little for better control. Will it work or will it fry the sander?
