    New to site

Hi, I recently moved to this area (eastern Wake) after retiring. After many, many years I finally have my shop close to completion. Each new project requires things I need(?). As money and opportunity arose, I have added to the shop. Before we moved, I make a complete set of kitchen cabinets...

    Create Site Howto Videos......

Well, maybe more of what the books call "a working group". Taking the fantastic idea The Bas came up with his Introduction to Photo Posting video http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/f39/including-pictures-posts-how-25046/ I'd like to set up and help work on a series of How To Videos...

    This site is awesome!!!!

just wanted to say thank you to the guys that bought my machinery. I have sold all of my shop pieces except my widebelt and everyone of the buyers came through ncwoodworker either directly or referred from someone that saw it here. that is pretty awesome and for it to happen in less than two...

Site Simplification Project & Fish Fry.....

Bas started something and I thought it might be good to ask for input. What ideas or things do you feel we could do to simplify our site layout? I'll throw this one out. I think we have too many menus on the top of the page. We have the blue bar, the navbar, the undernav bar and the floating...

    Trouble logging into hosted site

I have a site hosted by NCWoodworker, grandfathered in under the wire when that was offered to members. I had it pretty much as a place holder, and in fact it has just said "under contruction" with a contact for info link for over a year. I want to add some additional content, but I can't log in...

Hey everyone, glad I found the site

My name's Brian. I've always been interested in woodworking, although I've never done any myself. I figured it would be a good hobby in retirement. However, I just recently had my first child and realized that it could be a great thing to learn now so that I can build a few toys, window seats...

For Consideration, Site Change Policy Document....

I've take a first draft at a web template doc for our emerging change policy. Feel free to comment, update, or heck, even change it. http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/view.php?pg=change_guide Thanks, Jim

Site access when moving out of state

Benwise is moving out of state (see his post re: walnut table). I would assume that if someone qualified for access based on being a local yokel at some point, you keep your access even if you move out of our "coverage area". I don't think that's written down somewhere, so wanted to check my...

Feedback: Request to change some site colors....

We have had a good "complaint" about some background colors being hard to read. The thread is here:http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/showpost.php?p=242308&postcount=1 Here is where I came to understand the issue. http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/showpost.php?p=242659&postcount=9...

    Question, review site feature changes.....

There are lots of new features, changes, addons and more that we can do with this site software. As near as I can tell, we don't have a forum or process in place to review these "ideas". Would this be a task for staff, Board, Webmasters and/or monkeys throwing darts? And yes, of course...

UPDATE: There is new a Photo Popup Button! No more scrolling down below the Smilies looking for the "My Photos" [INSERT] link! Its like a dream, only without the talking fence post..... I've redone this doc to explain the new button and also a bit on Quick Reply. I also added a section...

    new to site

Hello, I tried to join the site some time ago but kept having password problems so I gave up. Problem solved now. I've been piddling with wood most of my 54 years. I'll be asking some questions mostly in regard to turning bowls on a lathe, something new for me. Most of my wood projects have...

    Workbench Video Site

Sometime in the next month, or so, I plan to actually start working on the long overdue bench project for my shop. Looks like the project is going to be a bit involved, but long overdue. Anyhow ... In my "study" of this subject, I've so far read the Christopher Schwartz "Workbenches" book...

How to create Amazon product links that benefit this site

(Mods, please let me know if I'm overstepping by offering this here!) If you want to create detailed Amazon.com product links that give referral credit back to this site, then I have an online tool that you might want to try. It does not affect the price you pay, but it does help this site earn...
