    First Shot at Woodburning

So I decided to try something knew today to tag my projects going forward. I have never tried to do woodburning and dad(JCraig) had a HF Woodburning kit so I stole(borrowed) it to give the idea a try. I printed an image of my logo in reverse on the laser printer and tried to transfer it to the...

Thought I would give it a shot - WIP

This all started because I wanted to see if I could hand cut dovetail joints (not easy...I still need to practice). So I built a simple box. (The picture quality isn't very good. I'm not really set up to take good pictures.) Then I decided that I should do something different for the lid...

    Shot at Alan in Washington?

Maybe I'm too sensitive on this one... or not... JackLeg's post the the Shop thread http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/f105/shop-29831/ , could be interpreted by Alan as a cheap shot. Am I over moderating? Your thoughts...?

    Okay, take your best shot

:qright5: I have never had to delete a post or even place a thread in Moderation until today. In the General Woodworking Forum under the Least favorite job thread Glenn responded to Alan's post in a harsh tone that I knew if it had been said by any other member would have resulted in...

    Shot through the heart(wood)

A while back while introducing Todd (TV) to the wonderful world of turning, we uncovered a unique piece of metal in a chunk of walnut. Well, I finally finished the "bullet" bowl. It was quite a shock to see that shiny spot spinning around when we first found it. I was thinking... man, it'll take...

I took a Shot at it

Well here are a couple of new pens I got some antler from Dave O and had a few problems with the blank sizing but it turned out just fine. This one is a brass casing .308 with antler top. This one is also a casing pen with a Buckeye Burl top. And the last one is a...

    Local source for lead shot

I need to find a source, hopefully local, for lead shot or something similar to use to ad weight to an object. I am on a very tight deadline, and don't have time to order anything. I plan on boring some holes, adding the weight and then plugging the holes. The whole bottom of the item will then...

Had to give it a shot ( Pun intended )

I had to give this a try Ebony and a 308 shell with copper kit. If any one wants to give this a shot I have about 50 never fired 308 shells :icon_thum And one from Jeff's blank pile I think he said it was red oak burl

Sometime tomorrow, I will probably have 2 Samsung 213T flat panel monitors available for any of you guys who want one. These are good monitors that I have had for several years They each have 1600 x 1200 native resolution. If your graphics card can't support that resolution or your not...

    New "long view" of shop

This is a new photo showing some changes in the shop. A new jointer and old cabinets replaced the HF jointer and "the shelves" from the old pics. I also made a planer stand with great storage. There's also an update of the RT with switch in place.
