And made my first Seedpot a full 12" diameter turned over the ways on my HF lathe
It was made in 2 parts and married together, the woods are Mahogany, Padauk and YH
Thanks for looking
Sorry for the poor photos :elvis...
Hi everyone, this is a Monkey Pod plate I made, it is 7" in dia and 2" thick. It is nice like Koa but Koa cost a lot more, even here in Hawaii:icon_scra.
In the 1940's there were a few companies here in Hawaii that made a lot of Monkey Pod bowls, one of them was Blairs and another was House of...
Finished Product: Plate mesures 11 1/2" across by 1 1/4" high. Finish is just Bri-Wax that I put on while turning. As you turn the plate, the various "eyes" of the Maple come and go. What my older friend who traded me for the blank does not yet know is that I've made this...
Detail of the Walnut Rim Segments and all of my geometry marks all over the plate blank. I have an older friend who likes to barter raw wood and trade stories. He get's much of his raw wood from going to flea markets and auctions. It took some haggling, but he eventually let me have two 12x1...
Ok I've been using my table for sometime and its never happened. I have a generic 1/4 think phenolic router plate and I had made the center rings out of some G-10 (fiberglass board) that fit flush with the top of the plate. They basically set in the inset of the plate. I guess MOST of the time...
I recently built myself a router table using the Rousseau 3509 Router Table Base (http://www.rousseauco.com/model3509.htm).
Everything I read says that the rings are removable... but I can't seem to figure it out. I'm afraid that I'll damage them if I try to force them.
Can anyone tell me...
I have a face plate from Oneway, its a 4 inch model from my old Delta lathe that I need to sell or trade for the 1 1/4" x 8 version. If anybody has one of the larger face plates or needs a 1"x 8 face plate, let me know.I have some large platters to turn so I need to do some thing fast.Thanx
I need a couple of small pieces of 1.25" or so thick steel plate. By small I mean really smalll - 3" x 2" and 2" x 2". They need dead flat parallel faces.
EDIT - Oh yeah - Cary/Apex/Raleigh area.
MLCS email came today promoting the new, version 2.0 of router accessory. Here's link to webpage and video. Has anyone tried or purchased one?
Courious,
Roger
I am building my router table and I plan on using the Rousseau router plate. My table surface area is 29x36. I will be putting the miter gauge track in also. The New Yankee plan says put the track I think 2 inches in and the plate 2 inches from that. that seems to near the edge.
What do...
Thought I would try out a non-round project for a chance. It came out good, and I believe that the next one may be bigger. The wood is Red OaK which I milled from a tree myself and dried. The biggest challenge was getting the corners sanded properly while it was spinning on the lathe.
Ok, this has me stumped.
I'm trying to drill a small hole in a china saucer for a teacup.
The end result is to attach it to a pole and make a mini bird bath (my mothers plan).
I've ruined 3 kinds of drill bits at various speeds and barely scratched it.
Or, the saucer shatters...
Design is copied from similar base made by Bill Anderson.
Base is designed to be held in a bench vice and enabling someone to drive dowels through to cut them to indicated size.
The rationale for this is commercially available dowels are often not accurately sized. This makes it...
I've got the Rousseau 9" x 12" x 3/8" thick Router Plate in my RT -- it has two removable inserts that have a hole for P-C guide bushings, or 2-3/8" or 3-7/8" openings for the biggest bits.
Works the nuts and is only about $40. Rob
