QS Sycamore & Walnut Coffee Table

Coffee table designed by John Skipper. Materials are QS sycamore and Walnut. There is no metal in this table. It has double through tenons and dowels through the legs to hold the lower shelf supports.

QS Sycamore experiment

QS Sycamore

I'm just curious to see it in the flesh. Does anyone have some 4/4-6/4 or 8/4 QS kiln dried sycamore that I could buy? Some pictures show it as white to almost a salmon pink. I'd be interested in about 6-10 bf for starters (7-10"w is preferred). I don't have any particular project in mind...

Maple and Sycamore

I had a little time to play today and I have had a couple of sycamore branch pieces laying around for a couple of years, so I made this: While I am known for my flat work, I don't think this turned out too bad considering I don't even own a bowl gouge. Pics don't do it justice. Enjoy Mike

Newly turned Sycamore bowl

Re-turned Sycamore bowl for a better look and was stilled glued to the face plate until Earl came over and let me try his Woodriver chuck and large flate jaws! Then I re-turned it when I got my own.

Sycamore Needed
