    timer solution for 3hp compressor?

I will soon be running a few air lines in my shop and moving my compressor farther away. I expect I will not be able to eliminate all air leaks and I don't want it running unless I'm actively using it. I already know I won't always remember to turn the switch back off. So I'd like to put a timer...

    Bandsaw Blade Storage Solution

Built this last week for corralling my bandsaw blades. Took the design from one I saw in Wood magazine. Sure beats having them lay in a drawer waiting like cactus to bite me.

    Mega Bench & Storage Solution

A while back I completed my main woodworking bench but still needed to do something about my utility workbench and small tool and parts storage. The following pictures show what I started with which was a solid core door (complete with bow :gar-La;) on some sawhorses and several dozen plastic...

Edge Burning: Is There a Better Solution?

I need some advice...I realize the some of the hardwoods (cherry, maple, etc) are very susceptible to edge burning during milling and sawing operations. That said, I have minimized the problem during milling operations by using a sharp bit and setting my router speed to the slowest possible...

A sanding solution for a Hegner scroll saw

I used to use the sanders (like the one in the back in the following picture): These were great for smoothing out "wobbles" or messy places that "occasionally" happen when scrolling, and they worked exceptionally well on my old Delta saw. Unfortunately they won't fit in any clamps for the...

Need a solution for loose table saw sled runner

I have a specialty, homemade crosscut table saw sled with a slightly sloppy wooden runner. Seems the wooden runner dried and shrank a bit and now I get a little wobble. Anyone know of a solution for this? The runner is not easily replaced, as it is epoxied onto the sled!:help:

Need efficient solution for cutting 120 tenons

Working on another crib, this one with mortised slats. Unfortunately, I need to cut 120 tenons all sized at 1/2"x1/4"x3/4". The count would be 160 tenons, but I managed to cut 20 slats 1" too short :icon_thum so I'll be giving those loose tenons with the slot mortiser. These slats are on...

Here is my solution to aligning my table saw, etc. I took a miter guage I don't use, drilled and tapped holes, mounted a plate, and attach my magnetic dial guage to it. Now my saw is within .001.

    Looking for a solution

I am restoring some antique writing boxes and a couple of them have brass string inlay. Naturally some of it is missing so I need to come up with a way to cut some brass stock approx 1/64 wide, making sure it stays as straight as possible. Any suggestions are appreciated. I cut a piece with some...

Storage solution: outfeed table & CC sled

For quite a while, my outfeed table and cross-cut sled have been taking up floor space when not in use (which is most of the time  ); I finally realized one day that if I added some simple sockets to the underside of the outfeed table, I could store it off the floor in place of a missing...

    Wood Glue Solution

Hello, I have a couple of wooden dining room chairs that keep coming apart. I can wedge the pieces back into the holes, but they don't stay for very long. A friend of mine said all I needed was some wood glue. Is this true and if so, do I need to put any weights on it or keep it upside down...

Tablesaw topside dust collection . . . possible solution? *w/pic*

I have never liked overarm tablesaw blade guards and dust pickups- for a couple of reasons. First, the piping gets in the way, second, too much bulky mounting hardware and plastic crap around and partially obscuring the blade, and not too good at capturing the dust. So I have never used one...
