The second was a Cocobolo Euro:
And the third is a Euro as well but not quite sure what type of wood, Thers is some spalting but cant...
I've been experimenting with different materials and had some success. This is my first attempt at intersecting segments. It's a Blue Saphire acrylic with white Inlace Acrylester accents at 60 degrees. (I gotta make a miter sled for my TS - sanding the bandsaw marks away is a pain!) Maybe I...
I have a pen request/opportunity.
My nephew is a Medical Officer in a Special Forces unit. He just returned home from a 1-year deployment and after a short rest is being re-deployed to Afghanistan. I’d like to do something special for him and his unit and thought about the “freedom pens”...
I got my CSUSA order on Friday and made a few pens this weekend.

This next one is a Jr...

Hi All...I haven't posted any pics in quite a while, so I thought I would share some pens that I completed recently.
First is a pen that we are giving to the lady who teaches 'Kingdom Kids' at our pre-school. She is fantastic! It is BOW with a cross inlay made of abalone shell. The 'hill'...

Churning out Christmas gifts. I think I've got the CA finish down. The secret is, that it doesn't take a lot, and use accelerator. Most of the wood pens are BLO/CA. Again, very little BLO, about 6 drops, then 3-4 coats of medium CA. Only takes about 6 drops per coat.
The first one is my...
In less than a week since "turning" darkside, and purchasing HF lathe, I've completed my first turned work(s).
Two Montblanc style pens. The first (on left) is from leftover Zebrawood (from 1st Jewelry box project) and the second is Cherry (so cheerfully donated by one, NC Scroller).
Both...

Spalted Maple (I think)
Cocobolo
Update: Daughter took some better photos, scroll down a bit.
Can anyone suggest a good supplier for pen kits and supplies?
Thanks
John

I have a meeting in Munich in October. I have made pens for everyone attending. Most are maple or Black Walnut. The four up front are Malle Burl, Gold Box Elder, Macadamia Nut, and Zercote.
This gave me a lot practice with pen turning.
