    How to put a sharp point on a dowel?

    I don't have a lathe, but figure there has to another method for putting a reasonably sharp point on the end of a 1" hardwood dowel, so it can be driven into the ground easily. You know, like a pencil sharpener! Sander takes too long. Can it be done with a TS, BS, DP, router (not in table)...
