    Aluminum Foil and Rust

After last weeks monsoon, my jointer had a faint hint of rust on the beds. Remembering that recently I had seen a tip to use aluminum foil to remove rust, I tried it- It Worked! Block Plane Care (aka rust reduction)

About a month ago, the local Woodcraft salesman talked me into buying a new Lie-Nielsen block plane. It was one of those *rare* times when I knew I was spending more money than I was *allowed*. Not sure if anyone here has ever done that with tools (haha), but I felt so guilty for buying...

Any words of wisdom for removing rust?

Anybody got a good system for removing rust from a neglected table saw top. The top and cast wings have been removed and I took them to a machine shop to have them media blasted at lunch time today. It turns out that the only big, automated blasting machine that they had uses steel shot...
