Well, LOML wants me to build her friend a wall-mounted quilt rack. I am working towards something I saw on the interwebz at http://www.steveweb.net/ (search quilt rack)
My dovetail skills are less than stellar (using Craftsman bench chisels), so I will hold it all together with dowels.
I...

Pretty neat. Definitely not what I was looking for, but you've just gotta love google. I can also see one of these holding baseball bats at a game, fishing rods at the coast, cane rack in the shop, and no telling what all else.
Well.. The wife is on my to finish a project, and I need to rack up some lumber I have in the shop. Since I moved ( ummm nearly 3 years ago ) I haven't put up a lumber rack. I didn't really like what I had did last time, so I found this:
Lumber storage rack
I was thinking of a few things...
Put this together last week using scrap. Will hold 64 clamps and I can add another leaf to it for another 32 when I need to. Pretty simple to make, just took time to cut the slots.
Yesterday I completed a cart for sheet goods and clamps which freed up the wall space where I planned to put my wood rack. Today I built the rack. The uprights are laminated 2x4's and the wood supports are chrome plated 1" solid steel stock which I recycled from barbell sets. This project taught...
Wife wanted a quilt rack so I put this together from pieces of Oak I had around the shop and some dowels I purchased. Simple and plane, but she likes it and that ‘s what counts. Finish with several coatss of wipe on poly.
Though I have a new to me lathe I have yet to fall into the abyss called the "dark side". In fact the scroll saw was running tonight. While I can still function in the "light" I would like to build a wine rack. Nothing super fancy but nice. Size wise I am thinking like something to hold 12...
My storage disease continues. I made this rack for my TS blades based on a Wood Magazine plan I found. Only problem is I still have 2 blades left. :BangHead:. I plan on building something on every inch of wall space!! :gar-Bi

Anyone have rod rack palns for a indoor roll-around rack. Even pictures would help. Some of the rods have a bent butt so there inlies the challenge.:eusa_danc
Rainy day, so I finished up my first Chisel Rack prototype. Having started using more hand tools lately, I wanted to get the chisels out of my tool drawer so the edges would not get clanked around. Wanted something I could hang above the bench or mount to the door of a large wood tool cabinet I...
Just finished this quilt rack. It's a Christmas present for my mother in-law. A friend of mine gave me the mahogany to build it with. I brought some rough lumber over to his shop to plane it. These were 10" wide boards, and I was'nt sure of the species at the time. Come to find out it was...
Go back in time to the mid 1950's. My older brother took a high school woodworking class; his class project was to build a buffet for my Mother. At some time over the last 50+ years, the buffet was demoted to a garage storage cabinet. It was mounted on the wall, upside down, and the doors were...
My uncle and cousin are black belts in karate and have been wanting a rack to display their belts. I'd like to make them something, and found these commercial display racks ... however no dimensions to be found.
Are there any karate people out here who might be able to help with the proper...
I'm working on a quilt rack/shelf using African mahogany. I plan on using a pore filler and then a dye to darken it a bit. I would like to finish it with a glossy coat. If left to my own, i would just use some glossy wipe on poly since i've used that before, but since it won't have a lot of...
