    Sanding curved legs

Dumb question here but What is the proper way or maybe the proper tool to use to sand curved legs and backs say for a chair. I always seem to get little flat spots along the way. I'm using a drum attachment on a drill press. Any :eusa_thin ideas

    Microplane Sanding Disks

I picked up a pack of Microplane 5" sanding disks at the woodworking show in Charlotte. Finally got around to trying them. A little scary. The course and medium are very aggressive. My PC sander did suck up most of the dust they created unlike regular sandpaper. Has anyone tried tried these...

    Sanding Sitter

When ROS first came out there were no commercial sanding sitters. Most of us made one from plastic coffee can lids loosely screwed to a piece of scrap. Original base was victim of last nights flooding. Neighbor suggested I pass this along.

    Handy sanding aids

I am sitting here sanding on a trivet and thought I'd mention some of the sanding aids or tools that I use. The first is "Scroll Sander sanding belts". These are located in stores and catalogs with the scroll saw blades. They come in two widths and two grits (at least that's all I've seen)...

    How much sanding.

I am making a couple of bookcases for a friend. The cases are made of 3/4 cabinet grade plywood. I have cut some poplar for the face framing to cover the edges of the plywood. I have some saw marks on some of the poplar facing. What I want to know is how much sanding should I attempt to do...

    Sanding after priming????

I'm painting that table I made and the primer coat is getting some brush marks and it's raising the grain a litttle. I primed with Kilz 2, water based. Would it be stupid to lightly sand out the imperfections. Then I think I will cover it a water based enamel for the wash-ability. Any painting...
