Hey Everyone! In this fun and festive scroll saw project video, we make a cute little Segmented Thanksgiving Turkey to hang on a door! I cut the design from 3/4 inch pine and the pattern comes from and older issue (Fall 2021 Issue 84) of Scroll Saw & Woodworking Crafts Magazine. I think this...
Made this for Thanksgiving, got the wood from The Woodworking Source in Mooresville, NC (first visit, really nice guy, let me dig through his scrap pile and even planed a few pieces). Sapele, maple, and either ash or oak (not sure which). Cutting to fit is hard! When I got it fitted as best I...

Being that turkey season is just around the corner I have been working mostly on call as of late. I do have a couple bowls that I work on in between calls that I hope to finsih up by the weekend, but until then here are a few that I finished up today.
Thanks for looking,

Hey guys, any of you hanging out here in the woodturner's forum section, turn turkey pot calls? I am looking for some wooden soundboards and was wondering if you had any good sources or if any of you produce your own?
I understand the simplicity in producing one's own, however sometimes going...
Here are a couple pots that had a flaw in the wood, so I didn't sell them. The pot on the left is dogwood and it had a crack at the rim that I had to fill to save it. The crack was caused by what apears to be a 22 bullet that I didn't know to be in the wood until I mounted the blank and turned...
I turn mostly bowls on my lathe, but spring always gets me in the call making mood. This is a call I just made using some turkey tracks inlay one of our members made. He makes inlay and came up with this for turkey call makers. It will be great for box calls as well. The other calls are made of...
Matt Furjanic from this site made the inlay for this call. I have one more piece to try, I hope to do his work justice. This just has the first coat of finish on it. It should shane up very nice with 4 or 5 more coats on it.

I know there is a lot of interest in making wood turkey calls for the wild turkey hunter. I have several friends doing this, and they have been after me to make an inlay with a turkey track in it. After several attempts, here is what I came up with... The primary wood is mahogany with ebony...

I saw Norm build a Turkry table a couple of weeks ago and decided to give it a go. This is my version of it. It's reclaimed pine with a Poly finish. And no, I don't know where the name comes from. :dontknow:
Here are a few more pots I just completed. This time of year tends to see me making more calls than bowls. They help me buy toy's to turn bowls.

First, I have to thank Flyrod444 for his help on this. He answered several questions, and got me going in the right direction.
This is another Christmas present for this year. It is a turkey call made from cherry and slate. The striker is purple heart and cherry. I was surprised at how...
