I would dearly love to find someone within an hour or so of Cary to carve about 10 feet of egg-and-dart for our dining room mantel. The two "legs" would be 40" to the corner from the base and the horizontal piece would be 44" long to the corners, with an acanthus leaf at the two corners...

I believe Santa is bringing me some carving knives for Christmas. Yea! Was hoping someone would like to set up some carving classes in the near future. I'm interested in spoon, chip and relief carving. Any others interested in some carving classes?

I do love to carve. However, all of my carvings are very small ornamentation figures for the model ships I build....

Here's the walking stick that I have been working on. I finally finished the details and painted it.
I usually just carve whatever I feel like out of my head, once in a while I look at photos ( as in the turtle head).
