CNC help

Hey folks,

Does NCWW maintain a list of CNC operators who are willing to help members?

I am seeking CNC help to make a series of "roughed out" 3D shapes for my carving (max size is under 16-18, and typically about 12").
Anywhere between Albemarle (my location) through my drive to Lynchburg (Asheboro, Greensboro, Danville, etc.) would be ideal. But I can get to Raleigh, etc. as well if need be.

Thank you,
--Bill

Chris,
This would be an example ......

These are about 14 inches tall. I paint them with early American folk patterns. I could attach the legs separately. I do not have much of a feel for what a CNC can do, so let me know if this is even in the realm of possibility.

Thank you for the reply,

These carving are doable with the exception of the cut under the right carving on the rear plum. Your probably in the 3-4 hour range on time to do on a fairly fast machine, smaller could be 8-12 hours. It would also help to speed the process to have a tool changer for roughing, final carving, and profile cut out. This could be true 3D parts if you index on a 3 Axis machine. (3 Axis can not do negative cuts or cuts outside of a cutters dimension) You might check out Vectric software https://www.vectric.com/products/aspire , or Carveco https://carveco.com/ both these software's will allow what you need. Machine will be another story as it will depend on how much you want to spend. It's possible to have the design software and have someone else cut your art if the price scares you for a total package.
