I've been thinking about putting in an overhead air filtration system. The commercial models are a bit out of my price range for now, so the plan is to build one myself. I was thinking of using an attic fan rated at around 1200cfm which should easily turn over the air in my garage within a few...
It has been way to long, but I finally built something this past weekend. I needed a table to go with my BBQ, this is what I came up with....
I got the wood from Anchor Hardwoods in Raleigh, nice folks!
Thanks,

I have finally finished the redo of our sunroom. Here are some pics of the built in book cases and bench. The room is far less than square or plumb which kept the project very interesting.
It was a learning experience and comments are welcome.
A buddy of mine wants me to build him built in bookcases on each side of his fireplace. Opening measures 59" so I plan to make it about 58" and scribe the stiles to match the wall before I attach them. Seems easy enough. The 12 inch deep bookcases will sit on top of a 24" deep cabinet. My...
Business is slow so I decided to build some furniture for sale. Not sure how it's going to work out. Here's my first piece. Cherry veneer and solids with 12 step lacquer finish. Photos tough to get especially finish. Comments welcome both on piece and decision to build pieces for sale.
After digging through the stuff in the garage, my quest to setup a small wood shop is starting to take shape. :wsmile: I thought I would share one of my projects with this group.
I discovered my router/ shaper station that I built about 15 years ago. It may look familiar as it was built from...
After many months of procrastination, I finally decided the time had come to build a router table. The lift is the new Jessum Router-Lift II. It works perfectly and the introductory price ($119.00) was a bargain. I drew up the plans in SketchUp but, like many home-made router tables, it ended up...
Since I am on vacation this week, I want to share with fellow North Carolina Woodworker'ers some of the pieces I have built. First one is a chest of drawers built for daughter. All the parts are made with maple. She chooses the finish.
Second piece is a blanket chest based on the plan found...
Seems like I always need more clamps and kind of like the idea of making my own - has anyone made these from shop notes #6? Are these a waste of time or good project?
Thanks
This past week I've been working on this portabottiglie, also known around here as a wine rack. This was requested by an artist friend a few months ago with the design completely left up to me. I'm not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I just couldn't bring myself to make a plain...
