small (4") natural edge cherry bowl

It's a bit rough; the first thing I have done with a "real" bowl gouge. I said I was going to just stick with spindles, but some of the wood I have collected just cries out for it...

Nice bowl Andy. Bowl gouges are great tools. Don't limit yourself on the lathe...
too many super pieces of wood available that would just not work out as well as a spindle tunrning.
Have you done anything to secure the natural edge? And what finish did you opt for?
