Jeff and eaglesc have both gotten on me wanting to see some more of the stuff I turned (pens, etc). Not sure I come up to clowman's level (and I know , not eaglesc's level) but:

The first two is one I turned from one of the cedar blanks I got from Jeff. Because of poor photography, the colors aren't quite right, the hardware is copper.

The next are Teacher Pens. These are popular at the end of the school year and around Christmas (I already have orders for six for this Christmas season)

The next is an overview of recent pens and the two after that are a closer view of each half.

The last is one of assorted fan pulls and keyrings

I think the pen turners here on NCWW are taking woodworking to a higher level of craftsmanship and artistry. This stuff is beautiful

to be honest I'm a little afraid to start turning pens. I don't want to fall down that slope yet while I have yet to make a lot of other stuff. Besides I have an addictive personality, I tried woodworking once and now I'm hooked, and the same with beer. Ohh well, I will take the plunge some day and Its good to know there are many people here that know what to do and instruct me. Be blessed friends.

Just the HF 34706 and a set of the HF $35/8-to-a-set tools. I used a 1" belt sander to sharpen with waiting until the slow speed grinder went on sale at Woodcraft (9 months) and then bought the PSI Wolverine knock-off. Then just bought the pen mandrel and when ever I try a new type item is when I buy the bushings for that item. A little assortment of sandpaper and a pack of micromesh and I was gone.

I got the lathe here on NCWW used with a couple of faceplates and a couple of chucks thrown in.

So far all I've turned is pens and some spindle stuff. I have the budget plans for a couple of Benjaman's Best bowl gouges at $25-$30 each and then a start on learning bowl turning.

Those are great Gator!I especially like the cedar ones.the fancy slimline is one of my favorite kits from Woodturningz.
I have switched to getting their Tn plated ones.As you have found out that omitting the CB gives you more design flexibility coupled withthat style of components you can make a larger pen.
What finish are you using?

Gee, so many kind remarks. Thanks for the ego boost.

Cathy - The display case I made from some scrap cherry and ¼" ply I had laying around. Plus some felt and thin elastic cord from Wally-World and a piece of glass from Ace.

eaglesc - Some have lacquer and some have Hut wax and a couple have CA (practicing) and I think one has some kind of liquid friction stuff (don't recall the name) that I didn't like at all when applying it.
