project complete: cherry laptop stand

after a few month hiatus (work, life etc), today I completed a laptop stand. This piece will hold my 17" laptop monitor up to the comfortable height of my 23" main monitor at work, so that I can comfortably use both as a dual screen setup. The wooden ledge is used to hold the docking station in place, and the front edge of the laptop will ride about flush with the front edge proper.

Finish is BLO, followed by 1 coat of amber shellac for color, topcoats with poly. Final coat is dilluted wax sanded on with 000 steel wool.

Boy did the BLO pop that grain. :icon_thum Stand is too pretty to cover up with a laptop.
