Even as a fulltime woodworker I still enjoy some "playtime". For me that is trying to turn a bowl. I hope to get a couple pics attached here as a preview of what is posted in my gallery album in a new folder "bowls".

Dave, the wood is spalted poplar with mineral stains. It was a piece of firewood last year!!

That is what I thought it might be, but I haven't seen such bright colors in mineral stained Poplar before. It's amazing what beauty a defect can create :icon_thum

Jerry, very nice wood turning and choice of wood. I have never seen mineral stained poplar before, that wood could look good on a cabinet door. I still have not bought a lathe, LOML still says I have too many tools, but what does was she know.
