Mark, would I interest you in an oak desk? That is the next project which has my daughter's name on it. She probably has her eye on the entire dining room set. The table is about 200 years old, a game table with two ends that can be hidden or pulled out. Sorry but you know how children are. Happy to be able to give you an idea or two.
Jim, I used Varathane, Americn Walnut as the stain. I borrowed a can from a friend to see what it would look like on my oak and I was sold. It is a perfect match to my oak chairs.
