I am nearly finished with my Daughters desk. I have a couple more coats of Waterlox on the front & knobs then I can complete the final assembly. The project took nearly a year due to other priorities last year but I am happy with the finished product. This forum has been a huge help selecting a finish for the desk. I ended up putting a wash coat of dewaxed shellac then a number of coats of waterlox wet sanding with the finish between every third coat. This is the first time using waterlox and I am impressed with the results.

Great looking project there. Cherry is my favorite wood, except for the cost. I also like Waterlox and find it's very easy to apply and quite durable. On most wood, it builds up quickly and you can sand it out to a very smooth finish. Just be sure to use some Bloxygen or else you will find it setting up in the can. DAMHIKT.

Very well done and +1 to Waterlox.

Interestingly I've noticed a lot more NCWW members using Waterlox or wanting to explore it.
