My Better half did this one...

Here is a scroll saw project that my sweet lady did that I wanted to share. She made four of these for her brothers and nephews to be gifts last Christmas. I did help a little, by making the base and help her get it as round as round can be by making her a jig… Any time we get to spend together...

    Sunflower Intarsia w/out the pot

My better half made these too. I gave a hand in making the seedy center, but the rest is all her work… Flower is made of satinwood (yellow heart), poplar, walnut, and I think the pot is blood wood, mahogany, and wenge. We found the pattern in a book called, “Intarsia Woodworking for...

    Pelican Intarsia

This Intarsia Pelican was another joint venture. She did most of the work and was in a crunch for time at the end so I joined in. Here are pictures of it before and after finishing. We made it this year in June and it was supposed to be a birthday gift for her father, but was a monthish late...

This Intarsia Duck was a joint venture (My sweet lady, and myself worked together on this one), and it was the first go at the intarsia craft for both of us. My FIRST segmented piece

OK, I am a rookie at segmented turning, and in fact, I just finished my first one. Not a traditional segmented piece with stacks of horizontal rows, but still segmented. The blank started as 2X2X4" piece. Opposite sides of figural cherry and figural white oak, separated by a thin...

New turning from VERY OLD WALNUT

About 4 years ago, I was looking for someone to do some resaw work, so I started by dropping into a small cabinet/millwork shop that does custom cabinetry. The guy did not do resaw work, but knew someone who did, and put me in touch with the other guy. While talking to the millwork owner...

Choke Cherry / Walnut toothpick holder

My intent was to make this look like a little water goblet. The choke cherry is the scrap piece left over from the ice cream scoop. I glued the walnut piece on with 2-part 5 minute epoxy. Everything was going fine, until I decided to drill it out (on lathe) with a forsner bit. When I backed...
