I've been in the area for about 2 years after moving down with my wife from Buffalo. Stong woodworking community there. I would say I'm at an intermediate level.

Looking to increase my activity with projects such as baby cradles for new grandkids and such. Very interestd in boatbuilding and hope to build something this fall.

Involved in a resurected company and trying to build it up. My background is engineering and I'm very busy with design, and manufacture of water treatment systems - desalination for ships and yachts, sanitation systems and holding tank pump out systems for marinas.

Hope I can be of some help to other woodworkers.

Welcome Al, there are several members in your area. Wilmington is one of my favorite towns. My in-laws live on 5th and Orange and we visit often. You should check out Kids Making It http://www.kidsmakingit.org/ a great non-profit organization that helps kids from the community to do something productive with their time instead of getting in trouble.
I look forward to your input in the forum and hopefully see some pics of your work.
See you around!!

WELCOME ABOARD, AL!

In my "previous life" I sold water filtration and we had a Marine Division. You're in a great area. (I lived in Ocean Isle for 13 years) and you'll enjoy Wilmington.

Glad to have you and your expertise with us.

Buffalo ? My wife went to school in Rochester. I'm sure you miss the winters:gar-La;, because you're not going to see those down here. Welcome to the site and we look forward to your input.
