If this is in the wrong place someone can move it.I'm in the NEED for a 6in. tool rest for my craftsman lathe. It has a 7/8 shaft.Right now all I have is a 12in and it's way too long for pens.If anyone has an extra laying around I sure could use it.I would be glad to make a trade??So if you do have an extra please shoot me a pm.

Thanks,
Robert

See if you can find some 7/8" diameter steel bar at the local hardware/borg and have it welded up by your friendly neighborhood welder. The commercial welding place(s) typically have scrap sitting around and may have what you need.

Or go here http://www.speedymetals.com/pc-33-8227-18r875.aspx and buy what you need and then have it welded up. Shouldn't take more than a minute to weld at a commercial place. Offer them 10$ and see if they bite. Or a 6 pack for a neighbor that has a welder.

Yea I got to thinking the other day.I can go by the scrap steel yard and find the steel. You can get the stuff for scrap price. If they don't have it I'll go with new stock.
