I'm a 41 yr old homemaker with 1 husband and 2 children, ages 10 and 8. I enjoy woodworking as a hobby, but wish I could make money doing it. (not millions, just a little extra to buy more wood to make new things) I joined to hopefully learn a thing or two and possibly help out if needed. I make birdhouse kits for kids to build. Very kid friendly, holes for nails predrilled, everything you need to put it together including a small hammer. I also have made a chair for my 1 year old nephew. (my first chair) I hope to learn more from this site.

Welcome to the site! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap Sounds like you have something going already with the bridhouse kits. Maybe you can roll with that for some extra cash while you experiment in making other things. This is a great gorup of folks. Please feel free to jump in at anytime. :icon_thum

Welcome to the site. I think the birdhouses for kids idea is wonderful. I hope this venture is successful and that plenty of "wood" money comes your way.

I owned and restored a 1969 Barracuda, V8, 318 cid, fastback. But my favorite was the 1972 'Cuda I rebuilt. slapstick auto trans, 340 cid. I wish I still had that one ! Hurt many guys feelings off the line with that one. :)

Yea, instead of home economics I took Auto Mechanics, woodshop and welding. No catty girls in those classes and the guys thought I was too cool.

Thanks for the encouraging words, and I hope to learn a lot from you guys!

Welcome to NCWW, cudamom. The knowledge around can teach you how to do everything, except stretch a board. We have a devoted team working in a secret laboratory on that one.
