Need to find a source for the subject trim. It's all going to be painted so nothing fancy, just functional.

The BORGs have the 5/4x4, but no 5/4x6.

Any thoughts? If I get the job, I'll need it soon, so a local source would be best.

Take a look at Mirtec. The last time I used mirtec it was priced very close to even with pine and a far superior product. Stock carries the full line. Phil

Not trying to be a butt, but are you sure you need 5/4 x 6? I always used 5/4 x 4 and 5/4 x 5 to make corners so that the two sides would be even when applied to the corner and there was no ripping.

Just a thought,
James

Can you plane down a 2 x 6" Since they are 6/4 thick and you only need 5/4, a few passes through a planer and you're there.]

Probably a log cheaper per board foot than a 5/4 x 6 too.

That's what I did on my house. My corner boards were 4/4 x 5. I bought 2 x 6 from Nashville Building Supply and they planed them down for me. They deliver too.

I probably am going to just plane down 2x6 material. It will save me some money in the end, and give me much needed excuse to get back in the shop. It's been so long my dust is collecting dust.

Thanks for the input everyone.
