I recently tested one of my square (a 6") and found it to be quite off. And since I build guitars accuracy could be the difference between a great guitar and garbage. Is there any brand that you guys can recommend. I know Starrett is known for being very accurate and they won the best combo...

For Sale Wood turning squares, flat stock, mahogany, walnut, cherry, oak

Had to move this from the classifieds: Cleaning house and need to move this wood out. Mahogany, walnut, cherry, oak. Lots of nice projects sitting here. Sadly, I have no place to store it so it has to go. $65.00 for the lot.

Redheart Turning Squares - Worst Checking I've ever seen!

Bought some 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 6" Readheart Turning Squares from The MAthews Woodcraft was going to use them for bottlestoppers, ect. Cut a 2" piece off one yesterday and have never seen wood check like this in my life. The wood came fully wax coated, made my cut with a bandsaw and I could watch...

Root Stock Turning Squares

Anything to be concerned about when slicing root balls for turning stock? Nothing like pith or anything like that is there? What make a good root ball turning square or am I wasting my time? Root balls are real PITA to prep, have to power wash the balls at least twice to get rid of the dirt and...
