Project idea for kids parties/school craft festivals: bring along some pre-cut wood approx. 6" by 10", a mini router, some sharpies, craft stamps and plan for a power source.
Have kids write their names with a sharpie (2" letters are ideal) on some recycled wood...we have a lot of old cedar fencing. Then you route out their names. The kids then use the different colored sharpies and /or craft stamps to decorate their personalized, one-of-a-kind plaques.
KIDS LOVE THIS...some improvise with "Kevin's room - private or keep out. Others decorate with the entire plaque with sharpies and then ask you to route out name, decorations, etc.
Benefits:
1. KIDS have a blast making something personal for themselves or other family members
2. teach kids about recycling old wood...environment
3. it's fast
4. low cost
We just had a booth at Airlie Gardens 1st GREEN DAY and...you guessed it - the plaques were the hottest item of the day.......we made atleast 50 of them
