Worked on the front legs of the rocker today, and I must say this has been the hardest process yet. The starting point was on the right and off the grinder form is on the left:

Once off the grinder had to use a #8 carving chisel to "bring out the round half" of the leg-the part that's not in the joint:

I worked on this for a good portion of the day and only got this far:

so I've still got a fair amount of shaping "into the joint" to perform but it was a good start and I believe 2/3rd's of the work on the front legs. So here's what the chair looks like today;

Tomorrow-more of the front legs and moving on to the arm rests.
Until then-pura vida

Careful around the sides of the leg where it joins the seat. I drop my instsections down about 1/8" above the seat and don't touch the leg anywhere in the seat zone until it is glued in. You can run he risk of shaping into your joint. You'll see once the leg is in the seat how to bring the leg out of the seat joint to make it flow. You want the leg to appear to continue as if the seat isn't there. Keep that thought in your mind. :)

Keep up the good work.
