Please sign up here even if you posted on the other thread.
Remember there is a $30 donation requested for this workshop.

Idealy you would want to bring three planes,

1. a scrub or try plane in the 5-6 Stanley number range with cambered blade.
2. A jointer in the 7-8 range
3. A #3 or 4 with a good flat blade.

some rough cut boards in poplar, soft maple, or pine 3-4 feet long and wide as possible 4/4 to 8/4

if you have none of this we can take turns with my planes.

I'd like to be on that list.

Mike, can you edit and tell us what we need to bring for the class?

Edit: Just paid my fee.

The scrub plane is a type of plane used to remove large amounts of wood from the surface of lumber, such as when eliminating cup or twist in the first stages of preparing rough stock, or when reducing the thickness of a board significantly.

I like to use a #5 or #6 with the blade ground to an 8 inch radius. My current one is a #6, a smaller person may prefer a #5.

I am also attending a Hand Plane class with Bill Anderson at the Woodwright's school on March 29th. Hopefully I can bring some tips/learnings from that class.
