Painting Carvings

[Bugle]

I am DEFINITELY not a painter. However, i decided to try my hand at it after seeing a pattern in the latest issue of Woodcarving Illustrated. This is a small part of a bigger piece (napkin holder). It turned out better than I hoped. I may try the whole piece.

Let me know what you think...HONEST opinions, please! I would really like constructive feedback.

That looks great! I had to be really picky to even find anything to "constructively criticize". It looks like the dark leaf veins smudged a little, but not that bad. I would be proud of it.

First of all, beautiful! But like Andy said, the leaves are the part I'd focus on. Try to transition you green colors a little more. Your Black-capped Chickadee is spot on. Jim
