New Site Up

HI, thanks for the kind words.

The articles, Tapatalk, and Chat are all in progress and should be back in a day or so.

DQ and your previous status (Senior User, Corporate Member) should have moved accross, but for right now the "elevations" to the higher levels is a script I'm rewriting. It has a bug in it so I need to figure out what is going on there. The issue is that the way XenForo handled usergroups is a bit different than the way vBulletin did so I'm trying to wrap my head around how to reconcile the behaviors.

Also, the lists of DQ members that go out to our vendors isn't working so I'm working on that one as well.

The old site is still there, but apparently, the code that automatically promotes things from http to https on that site explicitly references "www.ncwoodworker.net" which goes to the new site. I'm going to have to undo that so I can get the articles moved.

If I recall correctly, this is done via .htaccess rules. There was no way to enforce https for specific pages (such as your user profile, where you'd enter potentially personal info such as your address, phone number, etc.), so it redirects to https for all traffic. Pain in the rump when working on a migration.

It was at the bottom of the screen earlier, I do not see it now

And now it is back, appears at the bottom, on what appears to be a floating status bar

If you were DQ in the old site, should you be on the new one?
Yes, you should be. There was a few days when the "promotion" mechanism wasn't running, but it should e now. In fact, we now have a field in the user profile "
About" tab that should tell you why you haven't yet reached the next level.

We've done away with the visit frequency stuff. Your promotion is based on the number of posts etc... and just having connected to the forum for some reason in the past 30 days.

Your post count should be there in your provide when you click on your name anywhere. I moved all the posts from one database to the other so the status should be right (they only get recomputed nightly in a cron job).

I miss seeing the Nickname and City/State in the Left Side blurb that includes the Avatar. The Nickname often had a person's first name and I often want to know how far away from me a poster is without having to look up their profile. Again, a minor issue.
