Purchased these Freud bits at the Charlotte WWS. They finally arrived today. Since they were on back order so long Peachtree WWS gave me a $10 credit on my next $30 order. Umm... lets see, what do I need.:eusa_danc

For me The Tool Porn happened to me the other day. After getting my gf's check cashed, and getting pizza and groceries, I pass the fair grounds on the way home and they had a tool sale. Two day tool say, and I'm broke. She said I could go, I said "no I cant thats like the dog pound for me. Theres a lost lonely tool just dreaming of finding a good home where it will be taken care of and used properly." Tool Porn would have been me going there with just enough money to buy something I do not need. Looking at all them tools I couldnt afford and laughing at the ones i could afford.

NOW I AM A NEWBIE TO THIS SITE, AND BASICALLY TO WOODWORKING.

For just getting started, I would buy carbide with ball bearings and then worry about upgrades once you decide if you are going to use them a lot.

What Splinter has (which is true tool porn) are specialty bits and IMO if you are going to buy specialty bits you buy good ones.

Dolan, let me know how you do with these. I have had very little luck with the glue joint bit. I have to put too much clamping pressure to pull the joint up. My bit is an Amana which may or may not have something to do with it. I have had equally bad luck with a drawer lock. I saw an article recently I believe in Wood Magazine describing the set up process for these that was quite detailed. Made me realize what I was doing wrong.

What I am really interested in is that lock miter. I haven't broke down and bought one just because I am a bit gun shy after the glue joint so let us know how you like it.

Oh, DOLAN YOU SUCK!!!

Nice haul !

I've also had problems with the glue joint bit. So much so that I never even use it anymore. Mine was the CMT brand though.

I'm gonna read that link from Tekk and see if I can figgure what I did wrong.

That's a pretty nice little piece of porn you got there for sure. Certainly qualifies for a hearty YOU SUCK!!!

BTW I'd like to hear you opinion of the drawer lock bit. Better yet, maybe a review on all of them? Yeah, that's it, for your boldfaced gloat, a review would be a pretty fitting sentence.

Enjoy em!

It will be awhile before I get to test/review them.:crybaby2: LOML and I are trying to get the landscaping around the house finished since the weather has got a little better. We set out over 50 shrubs this week and next week we plan to build a 100' wooden fence to create a courtyard in an area between the house/garage/smokehouse. We are having an Open House in May and we haven't much time to get the landscaping/etc. finished so my shop time will be almost nile for awhile.:crybaby2: I think she wants some window planters build and a potting table so I make get to use them on these projects.
