We have room for 11 woodworkers – first 11 people to request a spot are welcome. We will take 3
alternates in case someone cancels, so if for some reason you register and cannot make it, please let
me know so I can get an alternate a spot. You may request a spot by replying to this post, or sending a PM.
Matt, and www.inlaybanding.com will donate all inlay materials (inlay banding, stringing, thick
veneer, and other inlay materials).
The cost will be $40 of which ALL will be donated to The Isabella Santos Foundation. A Foundation dedicated
to raising research funds for a rare form of Children's cancer (nuroblastoma). Checks to be made out to the foundation,
Tax deduction forms will be provided. More information on this foundation may be found at http://www.isabellasantosfoundation.com/
Lunch: $5 for pizza, or bring your own.
We will inlay a simple banding:
Holly stringing – including a radius
done with a palm router.
Bell-drops, using carving chisels and knives.
A walnut and holly medallion (which we will make and inlay).
Attendees will need to bring a small
plank (dark wood – walnut, mahogany, sapele or other dark wood)
about 6” wide 12 - 13” long and about 3/4” thick; surfaced both
sides and sanded). No other materials will be required. If you do not
have a suitable board, please let me know and one will be provided
for $5.
If you have a particular project which requires inlays, bring it. If there is time, help may be provided.
Tools and materials you may bring: If you do not have any of these tools; don't worry about it, come
anyway, we can share.

- A router (preferably a plam
router, or dremel with a router attachment, or a big one will do if
you do not have asmall one). With a 1/4” straight bit, and an edge
guide if you have one.
A router t-square – if you do
not have one, or do not know what this is, no problem – Materials
will be provided to make a simple one.
- Box cutter (utility knife) with a
new blade, or xacto knife if you prefer.
- Carving and straight chisels.
- A few spring clamps.
- Palm sander.
- Card scraper.
- Metal machinist's rule (6, 12 or
18”)
- Wood Glue
- Drafting compass
- A small miter box preferably with
a pull saw
- Pencil
- Rag
- A few push-pins
