in need of planer!

So does anyone know if there is a review of the small planers on the market? Is the DW735 worth the extra money? I've also heard good things about the Makita and Ridgid planers - be great to see a review by one of the major publications. Anyone seen a comparison?

Workbech magazine (April 2006) did a review of the Dewalt 735 along with a host of others, including the Ridgid, Delta, Hitachi, Jet, Woodtek etc.. The 735 won the Best Quality award and the Ridgid won Top Value.

so i would say the 735 is a good buy! i would be planing some long boards(14') in it.
