Hi! My dear friend Canuck has been telling me for more than a year now that I needed to get up on here and join you folks. I think he's just tired of being my sole source of advice and instruction on woodworking basics like plugging in the saw and using the broom - lol Well I finally finished my most recent project... but I don't quite see how you attach a picture... (I'll keep looking)
I'm a retired Marine, a former Harrier pilot, blessed with a really good job flying very long haul for Fedex on their Boeing 777s now, and I really like making wood chips and occasionally something useful when I'm home. I turned the bonus money one year into wood working equipment instead of a sports car, and have been busy learning pretty much everything the hard way ever since My wood shop is the one car garage in my 40 year old house, but you know... everything fits. Doing something just takes some thought. It's kinda like shaving with shaving cream in a mug, a straight razor, and a leather strop - nothing happens real fast. But the process is very... relaxing As an added bonus, I live next door to Canuck, and he's darn good company and patient with most of my exceptionally silly questions. He also keeps pointing me at projects I need to do, so I've got work for the next year and a half that I want to get done Also... I have a lot of questions! No laughter please - well not too much at any rate?
Thanks for having me and I'm pleased to meet you all
Alex
