Franklin Rocker WIP

A follow-up to my earlier post titled "Jumping in with both feet".

Definitely a WIP, but coming along as a Lowe's SPF prototype. No blueprints, plans, etc. just a couple of web photos and some general dimensions from the manufacturer. This has been a seat-of-the-pants design at best sketched out on freezer paper. It'll need more fine tuning and dimensioning decisions as I work on it.

The big challenges now are mortising the rockers and laying out/designing the curved back rests. Solid wood or laminate is YTBD, but it's supposed to have 5 vertical slats. Gonna be fun. :BangHead:

Here are a couple of pics.

I'm still unsure and uneasy about how to plunge mortise the rockers to attach the legs. I've also gotta play with the design and layout of the curved backrests (and their m&t s) to support the slats. :BangHead:
