I have an ERC panel to post a "Beware of Dog" sign and then fasten to a poplar tree by the driveway.

It's 14" x 14.5" (two 7.25"w pieces edge glued with TBIII and doweled). ROB sanded at 120g.

I'm wondering whether to leave it natural or perhaps add 3-4+ coats of Waterlox "Original". :dontknow:

This is dispensable and obviously not fine furniture so I'm not gonna lose a lot of sleep over it either way. What do you all think about finish or not? I won't be taking it down and refinishing it every year either.

Just curious if there's some experience out there (pros/cons).

Thanks in advance.

One of my buddies has two signs similar to that.

1) You have just entered into rifle range
2) Forget about the dogs beware the owner

Kinda makes you have second thoughts about pulling up his long winding drive to his house back up in the woods - you know?

Why beat yourself up?!?!? just let the sign weather - the call it patina, which is just a fancy word for: The sheen on any surface, produced by age and use.
