Here is a HF that I turned from the crotch of a walnut blank I got in the fall of 2010. It is just over 12" high by around 8" in Dia. I finished it with Antique oil. It looks like an egg with fire in it so I named it Dragon Egg. It is almost a square shape looking down on the top of the bowl. You can see how some of the sides a some what flat in the pictures.

Nice work Jack. I love the name. I'd love to incubate one!
Great piece of wood - love the contrast in the walnut, both creamy with the dark.

Jack nicely done.... From the pics the sap wood appears to have some curl. Does it of is that just my imagination?

Thanks everyone. The sapwood does have curl in it. I came up with this form to try and show off the curl. It is an unusual form, but did accomplish what I set out for. I turned it to finish thickness wet since I didn't think it would survive the drying process and other way with all the grain going this way and that.
Thanks,
Jack
