Took a "spin" on some acrylics this Thanksgiving holiday and shined the up beautifully simply with the high grit sandpaper (12,000). The question now is ... do the acrylics require a finish? If so, what would it be?
In place of plastic polish, you can use some automotive clear coat scratch remover. I use some from Wal Mart that can be used to polish headlight lenses. If using plastic polish, Novus is the best IMO. They make 3 different "grits". Hut is also good.
I'm cheap, I usse Brasso. (a tip from Russ Fairfield)
The label says you can use it on watch crystals.
I don't see any reason why you cannot put a coat of CA on after it has been polished,CA is optically clear and harder than any acrylic blank you can buy.
Only difference between the shine on this pen and any of my other acrylics is the use of Novus 2 & 1. I'm very pleasantly impressed with this stuff.
