Man you are one lucky dog Kyle - I can't find a box elder around here at all. But I sure can find plenty of chiggers. I have been wanting to saw up a box elder for years does it saw up a lot like red maple?

exactly like maple. In fact it is in the maple family (Acer)

Thanks.. What I really like about the wood is how easy it turns and the coloration. My photography sucks and does not bring out the contrast well enough in these pictures.

There is a blue tinge that looks really nice with the cream yellows.

You are correct this wood has it all..ambrosia worm, spalting, heavy curl and quilt. The only thing lacking was birdseye patterns.
