Ted,
I haven't turned many bowls so I don't have much to compare. The wood had been drying inside my shop for about 18 months so it was rather dry. I thought it turned good except the end grain tends to be kind of rough so that area took a little extra care and sanding to get it smooth. The wood is not hard on tools. I was surprised how light the bowl was when I finished it. It is about 7" across and about 3" tall and I expected it to be somewhat heavier than it is. For Magnolia it has some rather nice grain patterns.
