WOW!!!!!!! Both are awesome but I really like the three dimensionality of the tree. Is it all carved from one piece of wood? It almost looks as if the tree was carved and then applied to the background.
Outstanding work :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

Wow Pete, you're really getting into the carving! The spoon is really cool, but the tree is fantastic! Basswood I assume? We're going to have to set up a get together at your place so you can give some pointers!!! I'll have to try another spoon soon.

I think it is GREAT!!!

Don't think I'd have the patience for that kind of work.
Probably be taking a really big hammer to it after about
5 minutes.:BangHead:

Pete,
Those are awesome!!:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap
The tree is my favorite of the two, even though the spoon gives it a lot of competition. I like the 3-D of the tree.

Thanks for the comments :icon_thum

Actually, I cut the outline on the scroll saw and glued it to the backer (pine) then carved it. I started doing one out of a solid chunk of walnut but was having some "issues" so I decided to try one in Basswood first. . Now that I have a better idea of how to go about it (and some better carving tools:eusa_danc) I'll go back and try the solid walnut version.
