A special Fruit Bowl

I belong to a turning club (Piedmont Triad Woodturners Association) and last month a former member (Robert DeHart) brought in some stuff that he donated to the clubs monthly raffle. I won a couple of pre-made segmented rings that he had put together but never used. I decided to design a bowl around this ring. I hope I have done it justice because this has to be one of my favorites.

This is a fruit bowl made from Aspen and Cherry Burl.
The feature ring Cherry Burl and the base is a floating bottom made from book matched Cherry Burl.

Finished with Odies Oil.

Approx 12 inches across and about 5 inches tall.

The bottom is like the bottom of a barrel, very unusual and pleasing to me.
