Decided to start sawing again, Went out and serviced my saw mill and bobcat today and cut a couple cedars. I still don't trust my truck for pulling after I welded the cracked block but I'll be getting a new one soon.

Well after a good long vacation / wedding - I'm back sawing logs again. Everything started up after being down for 2 1/2 weeks :-D. Blades still sharpen the same way and the mill still cuts the same way. Walnut logs are still nasty to saw but make beautiful lumber. Yep everything is pretty much...
I scored two maple logs this weekend, from a wind-blown tree on my Dad's place in Black Mountain. It was the tree my sister and I had our swings in a half century ago. Rumor has it that my Dad also played in it as boy. Needless to say, I hope to be able to make a few keepsakes out of the lumber...

Got to saw some more of my own logs yesterday. Sawed a couple of w/ash logs, first time that I have ever sawn any ash, looks like oak. Also sawed some pretty r/oak.
Oh, and I also got some work done on the shed that I'm building on the side of the saw barn.
